COURSE INTRODUCTION

Cognos Planning Analyst Overview is a two day workshop designed to provide users with an understanding of the key concepts of Analyst, along with basic modelling knowledge. Through a variety of theory and practical modelling examples, attendees gain confidence to explore existing models and learn skills required for performing simple tasks.

  • Creating simple D-Lists.
  • Identifying complex calculations in D-Lists.
  • Modifying existing D-Lists.
  • Creating D-Cubes and using quick data entry techniques.
  • Creating, editing and executing simple D-Links.
  • Understanding and analysing complex D-Links.
  • Importing data from a flat file.
  • Exporting data to a flat file.
  • Running a Macro.
  • Creating a simple Excel report.

INTENDED AUDIENCE

Employees who need to understand the core elements of IBM Cognos Planning Analyst models, but who are unlikely to be involved in building extensive and complex models.
